west end - decking up to #2 bent in water from west end - that little crane is now east of bent #3 almost in Poughkeepsie - the decking and railings from the east end in Poughkeepsie have not advanced (westward) past Dutchess Ave. - this is the area of the 1974 fire and extensive work on the bridge structure is continuing - there were 2 scafolds set up underneath - on one a worker was welding causing a shower of hot metal to rain down on the street below - thus the reason for the flagman blocking the street - a rivet gun was being used by workers on the other scafold
