west end – decking up to #2 bent in water from west end – that little crane is now east of bent #3 almost in Poughkeepsie – the decking and railings from the east end in Poughkeepsie have not advanced (westward) past Dutchess Ave. – this is the area of the 1974 fire and extensive work on the bridge structure is continuing – there were 2 scafolds set up underneath – on one a worker was welding causing a shower of hot metal to rain down on the street below – thus the reason for the flagman blocking the street – a rivet gun was being used by workers on the other scafold
